It Matters

Barney passed away last week.

I wasn’t going to write anything about it because I know not everyone gets so invested with their animals and his death doesn’t really matter to everyone, but it matters to me.  Barney matters to me.  He was a part of my life and now he’s gone.  I loved him.

Nope

nope1

It’s been awhile.

I’ve feeling like crap mentally for the past couple weeks and I just got some even more depressing news tonight.

I’m realizing that I can’t deal with anything remotely bad.  I nope out of there so quick.  I know bad things happen, but I like to pretend that they don’t happen to me.  I also overanalyze everything, so even though I can’t actually physically deal with the situation, it’s all I think about.

I’m a real party to be around, folks.

Of course, I like to bury all of these feelings in a deep, dark place inside of me, so I hope to be back soon with more uplifting posts.

Life is just hard sometimes.

November

I say this every month, but how is it even November already?

We’ve officially entered the holiday season and I just can’t even.  I’m terrible at buying gifts for people.  I’m totally the person that’s out there the night before, just throwing random stuff in my cart and hoping it’s good enough.  I wish I could say that this year will be different, but probably not.  I’m always so unprepared.

Also, maybe I’ll put the tree up this year?

I did buy some eggnog already, so maybe that’s a good sign?

PS:  Here’s a picture of the beach that I took like a month ago.  See ya next year, Lake Erie!

Can’t it be summer forever?

Simple Two Ingredient Applesauce

applesauce

I kind of made this recipe by accident last week.  Barney still isn’t doing too well, and I wanted to make him something special to eat.  I had some McIntosh apples hanging out in my fridge that were getting kind of old, so I thought I would make him some applesauce.  I cut up some apples and put them in a saucepan with some water and let them cook on various heats (my favorite is high) until applesauce formed.  When it was done, I tried some for myself and found that it was absolutely delicious!  The recipes I looked up had sugar added to them but since I was making this for a goat, I didn’t want to add sugar.  It’s definitely still yummy without the sugar.

Ingredients:
- Apples (I used McIntosh)
- Water

Directions:
- Core, peel and dice apples
- Place in saucepan and add enough water to cover
- Cook on medium heat until mushy

I’m still not any better on directions!  I wrote the ingredients/directions like that because you can make as little or as much as you want, depending on how many apples you use.
