Heavy Heart

My heart is heavy today.

One of my mom’s goats is sick.

I’m a huge animal lover & when she got these goats, I bonded with them hardcore.  Mom has raised goats forever, but the last goats were different.  They’re fainting goats & just generally nervous.  It took me a long time of being around them before they would even let me pet them.  They’ve come such a long way & it breaks my heart that one of them is not well.

My mom called the vet yesterday & she’s making a farm call today to see what’s wrong with the goat, Barney.  The vet said that it could possibly be an incurable/fatal disease & that Barney will die.  I can’t deal.  He’s such a good goat & has come such a long way for it to end like this.  My stomach has been in knots all day just thinking about him.

We went to two weddings over the summer & I needed a new dress.  After searching everywhere, I finally found this dress at a thrift store for $1.50!  It’s a little on the short side, which makes it tricky to get in & out of vehicles, but after a few drinks, I stopped caring!  I just couldn’t pass it up for $1.50!

PS:  I’m still not going to be a fashion blogger.  Too much work & too much wonky eye.  My husband took like 100 pictures of me & those are the best ones!  How do these fashion bloggers do it?  Their pictures look so awesome & mine look terrible!

Teeth Talk

I totally didn't sneak this picture of my teeth.

I was going to write something along the lines of “Thoughts I have at the dentist”, but it’s really nothing to talk about compared to the main thought I have at the dentist:

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

Floss your teeth.  Get regular checkups.  Don’t be me.

PS:  At some point, I’m going to write about the return of Surge.  No judgments?  At least Surge isn’t to blame for this latest round of teeth issues!

1. What is your favorite part of Fall?The leaves changing. Oh, & apple orchards.

2. Do you have anything special planned for Fall?No.  I’m just going to savor it before the snow flies!  I’m going to hope Fall never ends!

3. What is Fall like in your area?A set up for winter!  Haha.  Fall is so weird in my area.  Some days it feels like summer & some days it feels like winter.  There are very few Fall-like days here.

4. What is your favorite Football team to cheer for(college or professional)?It’s wrong, but I don’t really do football.  I do have  fond memories of high school football games & the school dances that used to follow them, though.

5. Do you decorate for Fall? Show us pics!!!I’m not really one to decorate for Fall, but, at some point, there will be corn stalks beside my porch, probably delivered by my mom.  She goes all out for the seasons, though.  Here’s her house a few years ago in the Fall:

Randoms

Today I

…went to the dentist for the first time in about seven years.  Five follow-up appointments later & it will be done.  Also, I was introduced to dental credit.  Awesome.

…finally made it to a fair!  I missed every.single.one of my local fairs this year except for this one so I splurged on fair food & even bought an awesome hoodie because #Fair.

…am going to attempt to mow the yard in my new hoodie & Mr. Potato Head pajama bottoms because #lazy.

New Hair and Bad Photos

 

You guys, after 2+ years, I finally dyed my hair!  I had this box of hair dye hanging out in my bathroom forever & I finally decided to use it during the sale.   I absolutely hated my natural color, but I was so scared to dye it again because it took me forever to get it back to my natural color last time.  The dye won out, though!

It was only after my mom got the dye on my hair did we realize that the box of dye was from 2009.  Ruh Roh.  It was supposed to be a chocolate brown, but it turned into this:




So, while I couldn’t tell you what color my natural hair color was (blonde/brown/eww), I definitely can’t tell you what color this is!  Brown?  Red?  Auburn?  Yikes?

Also, can we talk about the wonky eye?  Yikes.  These are the only photos that look even remotely decent.  I posted another one to my personal Facebook & realized that one has the wonky eye too!  I just cannot take a good picture.  That is why I will never be a fashion blogger.  That & I’m also terrible at fashion.

Sale Recap

 

The sale was a success!  No one got into a fight even once!  Usually, someone loses it on somebody by the end of the weekend & it didn’t happen at all this weekend.  Also, by “someone”, I mean “me”.  It didn’t hurt that after five one too many glasses of wine, I slept most of Saturday afternoon.  We also made a ton of money from the sale, so the weekend was pretty much the bomb.com!



I can’t wait for the sale next year.
