Done In Love

I read an article about the Bonnie and Clyde Teens, who went on a crime spree.  Upon finding out that his girlfriend was only 13 years old, the 18 year old boy realized there was nothing he could do because “he was already done in love with her”, his mother said.  This got me thinking about the things in my life that are nonnegotiable because I’m already done in love.

1.  Family
There are a total of three people that I completely trust without a doubt:  my parents and my husband.  Those are also the three people that can do no wrong in my book.

2.  Mountain Dew
My soda obsession has been going strong for years.  I once had an ex-boyfriend accuse me of loving Mountain Dew more than I loved him.  Sadly, that was the case since he’s long gone and I’m still over here with my Mountain Dew.

3.  MusicMusic has owned my life since the beginning.  Even though I can’t play or sing, I love everything about music.

4.  AnimalsI grew up on a farm, so animals have been a huge part of my life.  Sometimes I think I love animals more than people.

5.  ComputersI really started getting into computers in middle school and life has never been the same!  Social media has completely exploded and it’s so easy to stay connected to everyone and everything.  Back in my day, I had to sit in front of a computer, on a desk, in a room.  Right now, I’m typing this on my couch!

In Sadness

My second cousin passed away two weeks ago.  She was only 39 years old.

I remember hanging out with her and her husband a couple years ago at our family reunion.  We had such a great time together and it’s one of those things that I still think about.

She was such a loving and caring person.  It’s so sad that she’s gone.

Grocery Issues

One of the major “adult” things I struggle with is grocery shopping.  Here are the top three things I struggle with:

1.  I don’t plan out meals in advance:  I’ll just grab a ton of things at the store & hope for the best.  I’m so messed up that I don’t even really have staples that I buy.  I have a love/hate relationship with milk and eggs.  I buy them, but then I’m dumping the milk down the drain and throwing the eggs away, so then I don’t buy them and really need them for something!

2.  I don’t have all of the ingredients for anything:  The problem with grabbing a ton of random things at the store is that I don’t have every single ingredient for anything.  Like I’ll have everything for tacos except the meat!  Or I’ll have pasta and no sauce or something.

3.  I’m a fruit & veggies person…except I’m not:  I’m all up in the produce section, picking up fruits and veggies that I’m totally going to eat…except I don’t.  By the time I’m ready to eat them, they’ve turned to mush in the fridge.  I’ve gotten way better at this because I just stopped buying fresh produce altogether, but some times I’ll slip up and end up with a fridge full of rotten produce.  I looked at some cut fruit I picked up and was surprised to find it wasn’t out of date!  I was so proud!

I totally wish I could be like Danielle from Blissful and Domestic.  She’s the best at everything frugal.  I found her blog a few years ago  through an AOL story and got super inspired.  Her family lived off $14,000 a year.  I really like some of her grocery tips, like shopping once a month & freezing  whatever you can to make it last.  If only I can muster the willpower to get this done!

I Hate Winter

selfie1

Dude, can we talk about how much winter sucks?  I would be the happiest of the happy if I could never hear the words “lake effect”, “clipper” and “where squalls persist” again.  You know where squalls persist?  On all of the roads I take to get to work!

But, on the bright side, I get to wear my goofy winter hat all the time and act like it’s the most serious thing possible.  My mom and I went into an auto center last week to get her battery changed and we were both wearing our goofy hats!  The people in there probably thought we were total goofballs, but #winter so whatever!

The Worst Thing I’ve Ever Done As A Blogger

You want to know the worst thing I’ve ever done as a “blogger”?

I shut my old blog down.

I was going through my old posts on that blog and discovered that my page views were actually climbing and I got some comments from bigger bloggers.

Aaand then I shut it all down.

What was I thinking?

If I would have just kept that blog going I could have been an #omgblogceleb or something.

Honestly, this blog sucks.  My page views suck.  My comment section sucks.  Everything sucks.  It sucks being at the bottom again.

But, since I’m at the bottom, there’s nowhere else to go but up, right?
