Netflixing

The Blacklist, Longmire, iZombie

You guys, my tv still isn't back on. I'm totes dying over here. It's too late to catch up with any of the new fall shows now! Hopefully, I should have the tv issue resolved today, but for the last four weeks, Netflix has been my buddy. Here are a few shows I've been streaming:

The Blacklist:  I watched the first season on Netflix while the second season was on tv, so I was really excited when the second season came to Netflix. It has everything I love in a show:  Crime fighting, mystery and secrets.

Longmire:  After having this in my recommendations forever, I finally decided to watch it and it's so awesome.  It's about the fictional Sheriff Longmire and his struggles to take back his town.

iZombie:  My mom was raving over this show when it first came out on tv, so when it came on Netflix, I wanted to try it out.  One episode later and I was hooked!  The story follows Liv Moore, a medical resident turned into a functional zombie.

What shows are you watching?  How is tv?!

Summer TV Recap

Remember that summer show preview post I did at the beginning of summer?

Here's an update of the shows I watched.

Shows I was looking forward to watching:

America's Got Talent: I put it on my DVR and didn't watch a single episode!

Aquarius: I watched a couple episodes and stopped. Not because it was terrible. Just didn't watch it.

The Whispers: I couldn't get into it & ended up deleting it. My mom still watches it and says it's really good. I should probably give it another go.

Sense 8: I didn't even start watching!

The Astronaut Wives: I loved them! The ending was a little fast, though. I've read it was only supposed to be a mini series/canceled, so it kind of explains the abrupt ending. I'm glad everything was resolved so it didn't leave any cliffhangers.

Last Comic Standing: I have so much love for this show! All funny all the time. I can't wait for the season finale this week!

Orange Is The New Black: I only watched a few episodes. Liked it so far.

Other shows I binge watched:

Chasing Life
Better Off Ted
Cedar Cove
Heartland
Taxi Brooklyn
Fringe

Surprising comeback:

After having Internet issues forever (which prevented me from binge watching anything on Netflix), I finally finished watching Forever that I had on my DVR, well, forever! I'm so sad that show got canceled!

Mother, How I Met Her

Well, hello there!  It’s been a while, yes?  I could come up with a crafty excuse as to why I’ve been away, but the truth is so much more legendary:

mother

OMG.  I love this show.  I’m the type that takes forever to warm up to what’s popular, and, as you can tell, it took me forever to even watch this show.  Now, I’m hooked.  I’m currently on the second season.  I did read some spoilers, though, & I totes hate myself for doing so!  I know I’m so late to the party on this one, but this show is soooo good.  I also love that the episodes are only about 20 minutes long, so I can get through the episodes fast.  I don’t know what I’m going to do when the series ends [for me]!

What are some shows that you’re obsessing over?

Hi

Hi!

So...it's been a while since I've last written.  I guess the only excuse for my absence has been that my life has been fairly boring, which is totally a good thing.  I'd settle for a boring life any day of the week!

Here's a little recap of some of the things I've been up to since I've been away:

READING  // About a million blog posts!  Even though I haven't been writing anything for my own blog, I absolutely love reading the blogs of others!  There are so many great bloggers out there & I love to see everyone's creativity.

WATCHING  //  So many shows!  Last year was all about the movie for me.  I watched about 200 movies last year.  For some reason, I just don't seem to have the patience for movies this year, so shows have been my jam.  There are only a couple shows that I watch in "real time"; the rest I've been catching on Netflix.  I always catch Revenge, The Goldbergs & Drop Dead Diva when they're on actual TV.  Some of the new (to me) shows I've been getting into are:  Lie to Me, Haven, House of Cards & Ringer.

LISTENING // I have to say that I'm so bad about music.  I listen to the same old songs over & over! I've been jamming out to Josh Thompson's new cd, Turn It Up. I also love me some Jon Pardi.  His Write You A Song cd is awesome.  I've been wanting to listen to the new Jerrod Niemann one as well.

REAL LIFE // is boring!  I've just been going to work & coming home & hanging out on the couch!  It's finally starting to feel like spring here, so I'm probably going to be outside a lot more.  I mowed the back yard last week & have yet to mow the front!  It's been raining here nonstop for days, so my yard is currently flooded.

Well, I guess that's it!  If this hasn't cured me of my blog funk, I don't know what will!

This Is What Happened

Aaaand I'm back! It's been way too long!

I'm enjoying a lovely staycation this week where I've been watching "Sons of Anarchy" and "Lie to Me".

First up, "Sons of Anarchy". How did I avoid this show for so long?! It's so great! "Lie to Me": I love it! I'm such a huge fan of crime dramas anyway so this show is right up my alley. Can we also talk about "The Walking Dead"? I wasn't a huge fan this season, but with the midseason premiere, I'm hooked again! I feel like I've been through so much with this group. Can you tell I become way too involved with fictional characters?

Also, this happened:

I turned 27 on Monday. I'm not sure I want to talk about that number. I think I may have finally reached the age where I'm dreading my birthday. There's so much that I feel like I should have accomplished by now and one of these years, I'm going to have to face the whole "having kids" thing. Maybe I'm old enough now that people are going to stop asking? Probably not.

Also, that cake? Completely cracked and lopsided. Thanks, mom! No, really, my mom is a great cook. I don't know what happened there. She used to be the go to person for cake making/decorating. It tasted great, though, and that's all that matters.

In country music news, I just want to give a little shout out to The Dusty Armadillo for hosting Eric Church this Thursday for one of his album release concerts. Eric is going to put on shows in six cities in two days to promote his latest album, "The Outsiders". It sounds like it's going to be a fun time for everyone involved and I think it's so cool that Eric is putting on these shows. I saw him on the Jägermeister tour (with my boys Josh Thompson, Sean Patrick McGraw and Rick Monroe) a few years ago and he puts on a good show. I even saw him before the show from afar and waved to him and his wife and they waved back! I was so star struck! I also have to add that Chris Cavanaugh is opening for Eric.  I've seen him live before and he's great!  He also tweets me sometimes, which is really cool!
